The piano department at Nevada School of the Arts offers our students instruction from beginner to the most advanced conservatory level. Beginning students may continue to choose the “traditional” style of learning (reading notes from the beginning), or the Suzuki method of learning (listening, then playing, evolving into reading). Intermediate and Advanced students will be taught piano technique, sight reading, ear training, and a wide range of repertoire. In addition to private lessons, group classes will be offered for beginning students (including adults). NSA piano faculty brings their many years of training, teaching, and performing experience into this program. Besides the high standard of training, an education in NSA’s Piano Program puts an emphasis on performance opportunities for all levels. Being prepared to play at family events, local concerts and music festivals is a hallmark of an NSA piano student.
Piano lessons: Open to students of all ages, who wish to study piano for their musical enrichment. Lessons are scheduled once a week for 30-60 minutes. Music Theory and Music Appreciation are included in 60 minute lessons. No audition is required.
Suzuki Piano: Students enrolled in the Suzuki Piano program will take both private lessons and attend group piano repertoire classes offered several times during the semester.
