About the Summer Jazz Intensive
The Summer Jazz Intensive is a workshop-style experience for people of all ages and skill levels, from elementary school, middle school, high school, and college students to adults, working professionals, hobbyists, and jazz fans. For three days, students will be immersed in ensemble rehearsals, sections, master classes, and clinics to build towards a performance in the afternoon of the third day. Featured guest artists include NEA Jazz Master David Liebman, Jon Faddis, and Justin DiCioccio. In addition, students will learn from the School of Jazz at Nevada School of the Arts faculty, consisting of renowned resident artists in the Las Vegas Valley.
Auditions
This year, we will be requiring students to include an audition with their registration. This will help maximize the time students play at the Intensive, as well as allow students to receive music ahead of time for practice purposes. Auditions will be in video (preferably) or audio format and uploaded to a hosting service of their choice. Registration
For anyone wishing to participate in this year’s Summer Jazz Intensive, it will first be necessary to have the audition materials above prepared. As part of the registration, you will be asked to post a link to your video or audio file. You will not be able to register without this, so make sure it is ready to go! Auditing This Event
